龙蟠科技登上全球知名行业媒体《F+L杂志》

  近日,全球知名行业媒体《F+L杂志》最新一期正式出刊。其中尤为引人瞩目的,是对龙蟠科技石俊峰董事长的大篇幅专访介绍。石俊峰董事长凭借在汽车精细化学品领域的突出贡献,成为中国民营企业家优质代表之一,受到海外媒体的热切关注。

  Shi Junfenggraduated from Hunan University in Changsha, Hunan province China in 1986 aftercompleting a major in organic chemistry. He gained employment as an engineer atNanjing Yuejin Group Auto mobile Research Institute soon after, following whatseemed a clearly defined career path. After early successes in employment Shiprogressively climbed to the position of chief engineer.

  Fast forward 23years and Shi’s career has undergrone a major departure from its earlytrajectory The 54-year-old is now chairman and majority shareholder of Jiang su Lopal Tech Co, Ltd (lopal), thebiggest private lubricant manufacturer and a TOP 10 lubricant brand in Chinawith a market cap of RMB3.8 billion(USD540 million)

  Shi spoke withF+L Magazine during the global launch of Lopal's new brand Trisonic M inBangkok, Thailand in May. Shi spoke about his career and the launch of thecompany's new global lubricant brand. Lopal' s founder cited two primary influenceson his decision to shift from engineer to entrepreneur. Firstly, a Chinesemarket that was opening up, encouraging many young and enthusilastic Chinese toaspire to be their own boss And secondly, a rapid vehicle expansion in China.The growth of personal and commercial vehicles created an opportunity not onlyfor lubricants but also for specialty chemicals says Shi

  Headquartered inNanjing Shi founded Jiangsu Lopal Petrochemical Co. td. in 2003, transferring knowledgeaccumulated in existing business interactions within the auto motive, freightand sales fields to his own company. Though, he says, the key to success wasgetting out to the market and in front of customers to better understand theirneeds. On 10 April 2017. Jiangsu Lopal Tech Co, Ltd successfully listed on themain board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

  The companyoperates three major brands, namely Lopal", " Kelas"and 3ECARE",and cover the needs of any vehicle with 11 major product lines that includeautomotive lubricants, industrial lubricants automotive chemicals andspecialties. Primary products comprise gasoline engine oils. Diesel engineoils, car maintenance products, automatic transmission fluids (ATFs)gear oils,hydraulic oils,antifreeze, brake fluids. greases. motorcycle oils,and machinerylubricants.The company is the market leader for automotive coolants in China.

  Since itsincorporation, Lopal has focused on local and foreign OEMs for growth, saysShi. The company supplies 20+OEMs in China, including passenger cars,commercial trucks and off-road vehicles. An increasing trend for Chinese OEMsto develop their own in-house specification has ramped up complexity within themarket. “In China. we have a situation where we have OEM specifications and API/ACEAspecifications which makes it more challenging formulating engine oils tosupply all OEMs”, says Shi

  Lopal operatesthree manufacturing plants in China located in Nanjing, Tianjin, and Lishui,with an estimated total annual production capacity of 200,000metric tonnes oflubricants 150,000 metric tonnes of coolants and 200,000 metric tonnes ofdiesel emission fluids ( DEFS)

  A testament toShi's success is the superfluity of honorary titles and awards he has beenafforded. Awards include Nanjing City TopExperts in Science and Technology: Zijin Science and Technology PioneeringEntrepreneur; and the prestigious 2nd China National Top 10,000 Talents.Not oneto rest on his laurels, Shi highlighted Lopal s determination to become China sversion of Fuchs. Based in Germany Fuchs is the largest independent lubricantmanufacturer in the world with sales revenues of EUR2.6 billion (USD2.9billion) in 2018.

  On 13 May 2019,Lopal Tech Singapore Pte Ltd signalled the beginning of a global assault withthe announcement of a new lubricant brand-Trisonic.The brand name, embracingtribology and speed,has been trademarked in key lubricant markets throughoutthe world, with a few exceptions. At the same time, Lopal Tech Singaporeconfirmed plans to penetrate Thailand's 500-million-litre lubricant market withthe flagship lubricant brand. Thailand is the second largest market inSoutheast Asia after Indonesia. with a total vehicle population of 36 million.

  The companyconfirmed they have no plans to build a lube blending plant in Southeast Asiawithin the next five years, instead opting for a contract manufacturingagreement with P.S.P. Specialties Co Ltd in Thailand.

  Despite theexcitement of establishing a new global brand, Shi, and Lopal are under noillusions of the challenges they face -as a latecomer to the market, and upagainst powerful multinational competitors such as Shell and BP/Castrol. Shialso emphasised the importance of adapting Lopal's traditional Chinesehierarchical structure, to become an all-encompassing employer that recognisesthe needs of different countries and cultures.

  Growth in the penetrationof electric vehicles (EV)is a further complexity, says Shi. However, Lopal is “Ina strong position to ride this growth”, he says The company has invested significantlyin research and development, and is already well embedded with Oems-supplyingEV specific fluids and coolants to several automakers. The work we are doing todaywill put us in a good position for developments in this market, he suggests.
